In memory of

Alstead Francois

February 23, 1960 -  November 27, 2018

Death is a natural occurrence, so we’re told. One as humans we will never get used to it. That being said, I have only slipped away into the next room. I am in sleep mode.
Everything remains exactly as it was. The life that we lived so fondly together remains untouched, unchanged. What we were to each other that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name. Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Alstead C Francois was born to Clifford Francois and Eslyn Charles Francois on the 23rd day of February 1960 in the beautiful village of Snell Hall St. Patrick on the island of Grenada.
In 1984 he travelled to Canada as a means of improving his life. He met a beautiful lady Clare Joseph whom he married and started a family.
Although he was faced with many challenges throughout his life, he never stopped at an opportunity to make another person happy. His home at 540 Dawes Road was always open to anyone who needed help and did whatever he could to assist.
He is survived by his wife Clare, two children Candice Francois and Malkah Joseph, four sisters (4) Alynthia, Daphne, Margaret, and Eunice. Nephews: Randy, Kim, Richard and Ron. Nieces: Arlene, Michelle, Janelle, Sabrina, Marcia and Jennifer. Cousins Tyrone Charles, Janice Griffith, Yvette Charles,
Joan Charles, Nell Charles, Tessa Grant, Sandra Charles and Vincent Andrew.

His Mother-in-law, Bernadine Joseph Etienne. His Sister-in-law Charmaine Andrews, his Brother-in-law Henson Calliste and we cannot forget little Kyle whom he loved so much and gave so much of himself to.
Alstead had many friends; some who were like brothers to him, Rancell Gordon, Henry Christopher, Ralph Lewis, Rolston Belfon, Davis Christopher and Patrick Bain. There are also some ladies whom he regarded as sisters and they treated him like a brother, Sonia Rodd, Denise Cyrus, June Gilbert, Wilma Charles, Annie Phillip, Euthlyn Bernard, Faye and Patrick Grant, Myrna Hagley ,Denise Alexander. Understanding the type of individual he was space does not permit the insertion of all the names. Others to mention such as: The Raeburn family of Plains, Rebecca and Jacob Lewis, The Mason family and the Mc Kay Family of Mt. Rodney. The Brothers and sisters at the Glencrest Congregation at 64 Tiago Avenue, Other relatives and friends in Canada, the USA and England.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together. Play, smile, and think of me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.

Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well, nothing hurts, and nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

Good Bye Alstead, Husband, Father, Brother, Friend until that time again Good Bye.
