In memory of

Allan Michael "Al" Lane

July 22, 1956 -  June 4, 2025

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Allan Michael (Al) Lane of Oshawa on June 4, 2025, at the age of 68.

Born to Kenneth and Betty Lane, Al was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy Jean “DJ” Lane (2023). He is survived by his siblings Ken “Skip” Lane, Chris Lane, and Cindy Bosy, and will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Kim, Kris, Aaron, Scott, Kaitlyn, and Jazz.

A proud Canadian Forces veteran, Al served with Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, including several United Nations peacekeeping missions. He later founded and operated AML Computer Support, serving Oshawa and the surrounding areas since 1996.

Al was active in community sports, enjoyed golf, and loved to talk hockey, but his greatest joy was the life he shared with DJ and their beloved dogs. His German Shepherds, Yusca and Phantom, are now in the care of Brooklin Pet Care.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour Al may send an e-transfer to brooklinpetcare@hotmail.com, noting it is for Phantom and Yusca.

He will be deeply missed.

I have fond memories of the Lane family as I was growing up. Betty was my Mother’s best and longest friend.

It was with great sadness we just learned of Al's passing. We worked beside each other for many, many years, him at his computer store & us next door at LPC on Taunton Road. We had many laughs over the years & bought equipment from Al along the way. He would bring his dogs into our office because he knew i was leary of big dogs and I think he wanted to show me they could be trusted. We hung out with him & DJ a few times and shared a drink or two along the way. You will be missed my friend, rest in peace and I hope your reunited with the love of your life...& yes Al I mean DJ not your puppies. xo

Mr. Allan Michael Lane taught me everything about work and life. As an child of refugees from Vietnam he understood me as he as a Peacekeeper during that era. I am strong and well now because of him. Thank you Mr. Lane for helping me and befriending me.

Rest in Peace.

Sincerely,
David Phong Tan Nguyen
