Classic moment: A few years ago, before I caved in and got a cell phone, I locked myself out of the house. Of course, I knocked on Allan's door; after all, he worked from home sometimes. Alas, nobody answered, but as I was walking away, I heard a call from the upstairs window, "What do you want, woman!? I'm in the bathroom. Can't you just get a cell phone like the rest of the world?" I laughed out loud! It was hilarious!! But of course, even though it was inconvenient, he never refused a favour, so when he was free, he let me in so that I could have a place to wait until my husband arrived with the spare key. That's Allan. A funny, gruff exterior with a heart of gold, willing to help anyone anytime. I will miss him.
