In memory of

Allan Andrew Stormont

September 29, 1937 -  June 22, 2019

Stormont, Allan Andrew

After a brave fight with cancer, passed away at peace and with dignity, in his 82nd year on June 22, 2019- his daughter Lesli, by his side.
He was the only child of Allan Archibald Stormont and his wife, Donzella, both of Montreal.
Predeceased by his loving and supportive wife Gayle (nee Hill) in 2010. He is survived by their son Steve (Lynsey) of Brampton, daughters Renee and Lesli ( Brad) McKee of Markham; grandchildren: Steven, Shane, Kyle, Cassandra and Bryce. He will be missed by brother-in-law, Gary Hill ( Pat) and their children Christine and Keith. He is also survived by his beloved sister-in-law, Terry and her sons Allan (Lisa) and Quinn Hitchen. Al will be missed by countless friends in both Toronto and Abbotsford, B.C. where he lived the past 5 years with his dear friend, Shirlee Nichols.
Al, (as he was known by family and friends) was born in Toronto, where he attended high school and graduated with a Business Degree from Ryerson University. He also spent some formative years in Montreal, P.Q.
An entrepreneur at heart, he had his own promotional marketing company for 30+ years and served as president of the Promotional Products Association of Canada. ( Toronto Chapter). Al was a very organized man, always charting his path for the day and with notes about tasks and their respective priority. Al will be remembered as an optimist, who was always willing to roll up his sleeves and do whatever was needed to 'get the job done'. He was never one to procrastinate, yet he didn't impose that on others.
Al was also a great conversationalist. He had a quick wit, loved a good joke/story.... and was always willing to share his thoughts on any subject. Perhaps, more importantly he was a very patient listener and was always open to learning about new ideas and opinions.
Visitation will be held at THE SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE at 275 Lesmill Road, Toronto on Friday July 5th from 12pm to 1 pm. To be followed by a brief memorial service at 1:30pm. His ashes will be interred at Highland Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are welcome.
