In memory of

Alastair Robert Wedderspoon

September 16, 1961 -  April 30, 2020

Alastair Robert Wedderspoon, 58, succumbed to a heart attack and passed away on Thursday April 30, 2020 with his wife, Maria Lau, at his side. Alastair is survived by his mother Nan (MacLean) Wedderspoon, his wife Maria Lau, and his son Matt Mok. He was a loving son, an adoring husband, a caring father, and a supportive friend to everyone he met.

Alastair was an Auxiliary Officer with the Toronto Police for over 25 years, volunteering his time to serve and support the community. He loved watching crime TV shows, Star Trek, and cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs with his wife. Alastair was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects, technology issues, or whatever else people needed him for. Everyone he met felt and remembers the size of his heart, as he genuinely cared for all of those around him.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be having a private funeral service on Wednesday May 6 from 11AM to 1PM. At 11:45AM, a live video stream will be available on this memorial page for family and friends. When the COVID-19 pandemic is resolved and the restrictions lifted, we will be organizing a Celebration of Life in honour of Alastair.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada.

*A link to the live webcast will be available at the top of this page on Wednesday, May 6th starting at 11:45 am EST

To my Dear friend Al, I'm so sadden to write this as i cannot believe what is going anymore. I'm still thinking why? Why? I believe Life is so sensitive and with times like these we are all facing even more unclear direction. You are a very good friend, we never had any issues and always respected each other. I will never forget the calls and discussions at work, always asking me for advice on projects. What to use, what to spec or even just talking about your trip to Italy every year. Yes, you can still make fun of me as you know i'm the only Italian that has never been to Italy. So keep making fun of me Al. Your spirit will always be there in my mind thinking of you. To his family please accept my deepest condolences and support as i wish i was able to have shared some of our moments of fun and laughter at work with our colleagues. God bless his friends and neighbors who have been there for him always. From Michael Pulsinelli and Family, be at rest my friend.

Dear Maria, Mat and family,

Please accept my deepest condolences at this terrible time. My heart is broken that you are going through this Maria. When Darlene and I came to your house it was so evident how much the two of you loved and respected each other. I wish I was able to be with you and give you a big hug. Please know I am thinking of you. xo
