In memory of

Alice Yeung

December 13, 1936 -  October 19, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. Alice was in her 85th year and was surrounded by her five children when she passed away peacefully at North York General Hospital on October 19, 2021.

She was born in Fujian, China on December 13, 1936. She married our dad, Alexander Yeung on October 24, 1961. In 1976, at the age of only 39, Alex passed and Alice single-handedly raised her children.

Alice had the ability to make everyone smile and always had something funny to say. She was truly a wonderful and caring woman, loved far and wide! She loved her children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews and made friends everywhere she went. She had a way of making people (even strangers) feel loved and seen.

She is survived by her children, Anthony (Gloria, and granddaughter, Emily), Beatrice (Neil, and grandchildren, Lauren and Lewis), Clement (and grandson, Alex), Daniel (Cindy, and grandchildren, Megan, Nicholas, Emma, and Sophie) and Eugene (Lily, and grandchildren, Ethan and Ashley), brother, Joseph (Teresa and niece, Julia, and nephews, Wilson and Walter), sister, Alina (Oscar and nieces, Alison, Deborah and Tracy), sister-in-law, Phyllis (and niece, Jennifer and nephew, Derek) brother, Savio, sister, Magdalena (Robert and nephews, Shawn and Kevin and niece, Kayla), and brother, Peter (Maria and nieces, Angela, Sophia and Tina).

The family would like to thank the devoted staff at Revera Donway Place Retirement Home who took such loving care of her during the final chapter of her journey. Though her time with us was cut suddenly, we know she and our father will have a lot of catching up to do. Her family and friends will keep her memory alive and her spirit will live on forever in our hearts. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in her memory.

Hello Clem and Family,
We were saddened to hear of the loss of your mother. Unfortunately we never met her but Clem spoke fondly of her often. Reading what you have written about her I am sure only touches the surface on what a wonderful woman she was and is in your hearts. Please know we are praying for you Clem and family during this time. As you said in the note, your mom has some catching up with your dad. So true.
Our deepest condolences,
Gordon and Daisy

I am thinking of you and Alex this weekend (and forward) as you struggle to work through all the emotions involved either the passing of your mom (grandma). What an incredible woman she was - i understand why she will be so very missed.

Take care of each other,
Sandra

Alice to me is like a mother, she is a very caring, loving, and friendly person. I remembered the good old days when we hang around, going out to dim sum, etc... She knew I was alone when I first came to Canada, and she always brings me soup and sometimes food, whenever she cooks for her kids; her food and soup are delicious. She made me feel like one of the family members, very kind of her.
Alice is very energetic, she loves playing tennis; she is good at cooking, sewing, you name it, I am out of words.....
Alice (Kai Ma), I will miss you very very much.

Auntie Alice,

Thank you so much for all your advices on how to raise the children! I will always remember how you look at the things positively and how to keep calm when facing any problems. It’s always as easy as to play tennis after all! Missing you!
