Grandma was a wonderful person always there with a smile, happy to laugh at a joke and she loved a good strong hug. Not many grandchildren are lucky enough to have a grandmother that is around for so much of their lives these days and I am very grateful for the time that I had with her filled with wonderful memories. Waking up to toasted tomato and bacon sandwiches after spending the night in Scarborough, playing cards late into the night when she stayed with us in Mississauga on Christmas Eve, to watching Let's Make a Deal and Price is Right when I would visit her in Coburg these are but a few that I will always carry with me. As well as one more, as well all know Grandma was always willing to give you a smack on the head when it was necessary, but I will always get a laugh thinking of the time she tossed the ice cube at Dad and ended up cutting his forehead with it (unintentionally course) to this day i still chuckle when thinking about it. She will be missed but in our memories she endures, I will miss you and love you always Grandma, Shawn.
From her smile, the hugs and the no-nonsense look I got when I was sent to the back bedroom because I got in trouble once again :),
There are so many great memories, from Grandma coming to my hockey & baseball games, to card games, her famous bacon, and tomato sandwiches, to the tradition of her spending Christmas Eve with us, over my 33 years, the memories are a plenty.
However, as a grandchild and parent, my most recent memory in June of this year, is one of the happiest I will hold onto, as my children got to meet the wonderful woman that was my grandmother and the joy that I could see in her eyes and the smiles all day, these are the memories we keep and cherish.
Always and forever you will be loved and missed but never forgotten.
I love you grandma, Josh
