Born in Kalamata, Greece, Aleko was a European Gold Champion in the 4-man rowing event for the national team of Greece. Aleko immigrated to Canada in 1970, embracing a new chapter in his life with determination and hope. It was here that he married the love of his life, Angela, with whom he built a beautiful family. He was a dedicated employee for Canada Post for 32 years and was affectionately known on the Danforth as “Ο ταχυδρομος.” He was a friend to all, young and old, and the life of every party. Aleko was a devoted husband who always took care of his wife tenderly, especially after her accident where he put all his energy into nursing her back to health.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela, his cherished children, Tom, Peter, and John, and his adored grandchildren, Amalia and Alexia.
As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that Alekos spirit will live on in the love he shared and the legacy he leaves behind. May he rest in eternal peace.
