In memory of

Aida Jimenez Umali

February 28, 1934 -  January 2, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my mother and loving, Sister-in-law, Tita and Lola, Aida Jimenez Umali.

She will be remembered for her fun loving sense of humour, her love for family and most of all for her sinigang and cherry cheesecake!

Aida worked for many years at True Davidson Acres until she retired in 1995.

In her later years, she really discovered new found independence and fully enjoyed everything life had to offer. She cherished everyday things like traveling on the public transit to visit family, friends, whether that be at homes, at the mall or at bingo, Aida was there and loving every minute of it.

Aida loved to read romance novels, especially by Danielle Steele. She especially enjoyed travelling and was able to go back home to the Philippines a few times, visit Hawaii and Mexico. She also loved dogs, especially Mocha and Storm.

Aida was predeceased by her loving husband Armando, and she is survived by her daughter Aileen Umali Rist , her son in law Eric Rist and many nieces and nephews.

Tita Aida, I will miss your smile, laughter, singing, humour and your love for life. You faced so many health challenges for so many years but you always had a smile for everyone when asked how you were doing. You are a true warrior goddess with a fighting spirit. It is now your time to rest in peace Tita. You are missed but will be remembered forever. I love you.

Aida & Mando were the first people who helped us settled in Canada 50 years ago. Aida was the baby sitter for our 3 sons & she treated them like her own. We lived in the same building & they were our superintendent. A wonderful woman, always happy & caring. So sad we weren’t able to see her before she passed away. But she will always be in our hearts. Rest in Peace Aida. You will be with Mando now with no pains. You are loved & will be remembered forever.
