Ahmet Ahmetaj was born in Mashkullore, Gjirokaster on April 21, 1939 to Zano and Zibo Ahmetaj. He was the oldest brother to Baftjar, Donika and Bashkim.

In December of 1961 Ahmet married Shemsije Canaj, and together they had 4 children - Meri, Majlinda, Arben and Edlira. Ahmet and Shemsije lived a wonderful life together and gave their children everything they could.

From 2009 onwards, Ahmet and Shemsije lived in Toronto with their two daughters. Unfortunately, in 2012, an unexpected brain tumour took Shemsije’s life. Ever since the passing of his dear wife, Ahmet developed several illnesses and his condition deteriorated each year, culminating in his passing on October 20, 2020.

Ahmet leaves behind his children and his nieces and nephews - Dorina, Bora, Kristi, Ardita and Inis - and his great grandson, Julian. He was a beloved son, husband, brother, father, grandfather and uncle. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Ne 31. Dhjetor 1961 martohet me Shemsije Canaj dhe nga martesa sollen ne jete kater femije Meri, Majlinda, Arbenin dhe Edlira.

Ahmeti dhe Shemsije qe prej vitit 2009 jetuan ne Toronto, Kanada. Ne vitin 2012 bashkeshortja e Ahmetit ndahet nga jeta nga nje semundje e rende dhe e papritur. Qe pas humbjes se gruas se tij Ajmeti kalon disa semundje dhe cdo vit gjendja rendohej derisa ne fillim te vitit 2020 gjendja rendohet me shume deri sa u nda nga jeta ne 20 Tetor 2020.

Me ikjen e tij nga jeta Ahmeti la pas femijte e tij, mbesat Dorina, Bora, Ardita , Inis , nipin Kristi dhe sternipin Julian. Gjithashtu la pas vellezerit Baftjar dhe Bashkim si dhe motren Donika.
