In memory of

Adolf Gerlsbeck

September 26, 1930 -  November 5, 2019

Passed away at Scarborough General Hospital on November 5, 2019 at 89. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Maria. Terrific dad to Anita Monahan (Harvey) and Robert (Lisa) and great Opa to Drew, Jessie and Jamie. Survived by his brother Lenz and sister Waltraud; predeceased by his sister Rosa and brothers Peter and Hans. Adolf grew up in Germany and came to Canada in 1951. He was a veteran of the Canadian Army, serving overseas as a United Nations peacekeeper in the late 1950s. He had a wonderfully dry sense of humour, gentle demeanour and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. After a career in the pharmaceutical industry with Schering in Montreal and Eli Lilly in Toronto, Adolf retired; he and Maria moved from Whitby to Scarborough where he served on the board of the Blue Danube Housing Development. He and Maria loved to go for long walks and to dance. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Scarborough General Hospital. Visitation will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery and Visitation Centre (625 Birchmount Rd, north of St. Clair Avenue East, Scarborough) on Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 1-3 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
