In memory of

Adele Strach

March 8, 1931 -  August 18, 2023

At 92, Adele Strach, our beloved "Babcia," peacefully passed away at her home on Main St. Terrace on August 18, 2023. Adele was born on March 8, 1931, to Jozef & Franchesca in Poland. A cherished matriarch, she was at the heart of a vibrant five-generational family.

From the very beginning, the strength and power that defined Adele were evident. Remarkably, her birthday coincides with International Women's Day, which symbolizes her impactful presence. Adele embraced many cultures and mastered four languages: Polish, French, German, and English.

Among her various occupations, Adele is notably recognized for her years of dedicated service at the Toronto Hunt Club, where she eventually retired. For years to come, her legacy extended to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as they, too, became a part of the fabric of The Toronto Hunt Club.

Adele was a devout Catholic, finding solace and strength in her faith. She also found joy in life's simplest pleasures and enthusiastically pursued her passions. She was a seamstress, a cook, a baker and more. Her love for baking was a testament to her creativity, and her kitchen was a place of warmth and delicious aromas. Adele's playful spirit extended to games of chance as she embraced the casino's excitement and the lottery's thrill.

Adele was predeceased by her husband, Erich, and daughters, Aniela & Teresa.

Adele is survived by her siblings, Hela & Hendryk; her grandchildren, Joanne, Daniel (Mary), Michelle (Nick) & Michael; her great-grandchildren, Sherydan, Gabriella, Isabelle, Meagan, William & Michael; and finally, her great-great-grandchildren, Cameron Sebastian Jr. & Celine.

Adele's family would like to kindly thank all of the staff at Main Street Terrace for the extraordinary care and compassion they have shown to Adele and Erich throughout the years of their residency.

Please join us in celebrating Adele's life and legacy on Saturday, September 2, at 9 a.m. A concurrent burial will occur for Adele's husband, Erich, and two daughters, Aniela and Teresa. A catered reception will follow at Pine Hills Cemetery & Funeral Home.
