In memory of

Adam Wei Fah Chung

June 19, 1930 -  March 16, 2024

Passed away peacefully at age 93 on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Adam is survived by daughters Christine Lee (Richard) and Irene (Steve McDonald) and sons William (Maureen Boyce) and Richard, and grandchildren Matthew Lee, Nicholas Lee, Erik Lee, Rebecca McDonald, Samantha McDonald and Alana Boyce-Chung.
Adam was predeceased by his wife of 34 years June (died 1992) and son Michael (died 1999), both succumbing to cancer.

Born and raised in Calcutta, India, Adam blazed a trail emigrating with his wife and 5 young children to Canada in 1967. He made a life for his family in his adopted homeland and encouraged other family members to do the same, sponsoring and supporting many of them in their immigration journey.

Adam was a gifted polyglot, fluent in English, Hakka, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hindi. In his later years, he was just as likely to be watching sports (basketball and baseball being his favourites) with his devoted youngest son Rich or enjoying an old Bollywood movie.

Viewing will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 11 am – 2 pm at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Rd, Scarborough, Ontario, followed by interment at Pine Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family kindly asks that people make donations to St Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Heartfelt condolences to the family. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. Sorry I just missed visiting Nee Suk by just a couple of days. He was truly a remarkable person who loved his children and grandchildren. I was always amazed at his strength and fortitude of spirit having to make the most of his life especially after Nee Mei’s passing.
May his soul rest in peace.
