In memory of
Adam Psotka
December 15, 2018
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Seven Oaks Long-Term Care Home in Scarborough, 2 weeks shy of his 90th birthday, with his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth (née Duhatschek), at his side. Proud father of 3 sons, Walter, Erwin (Linda), and Michael, and 9 grandchildren, Christina (Evon), Richard (Sonia), Marianne (David), David (Heidi), Veronica, Luke, Gabrielle, Eric, and Alexandra. Delighted great-grandfather to Evony, Xaverie, and Daliana. Also mourned by his sister-in-law, Katharina, and many extended family members. Born in the village of Tchalma in what is now Serbia to Jakob and Katrina Psotka, he survived the turmoil of World War II that killed almost all of his family by escaping to Austria as a teenager. After emigrating to Canada, he worked hard as a carpenter but still found time to be a dedicated member and volunteer at St. Patrick’s Church and the Danube-Schwabian Club. He devoted himself to ensuring that his family had a better life. Nothing made him happier than hosting his family at the cottage, watching them enjoy the lake and breathe in the freedom of Canada.
Visitation at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229), on Thursday, December 20, 6–9 p.m. and Friday, December 21, 9-10 a.m. A mass and celebration of life will be held in the chapel on Friday, December 21 at 10:00 a.m., with interment and reception to follow.
