My mother and I were doing a crossword puzzle last week and the clue was 'A Californian wine'. The answer was 'Zinfandel', which sparked a memory as Zoly introduced me and my husband to this wine over 20 years ago when we met them at their holiday residence in Florida. He was a great wine buff and always knew the right one to go with whatever you were eating, be it meat, fish or vegetarian. His passing will be a source of great sadness for family and friends alike.
