In memory of

Zoe Ross

February 21, 2007 -  December 5, 2024

On Thursday, December 5, our wonderful little girl (young lady, actually) Zoe died, surrounded by her loving family and her favorite Linkamal toys. She'd been in hospital or hospice since the start of September and had basically been sick most of the year. We had a nice break during the summer though, when she got to go to Easter Seals camp and take a family vacation to Prince Edward Island to see Anne of Green Gables house (well, sort of her house) and tromp across mud flats in the Bay of Fundy. Last January she contracted ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome) and we thought we were going to lose her then but she bounced back and made it another eleven months or so. In recent days she'd gone to a couple of her sisters hockey games, made a trip to the Little Canada attraction downtown, visited the Aquarium (one of her faves- she enjoyed talking to the fish), and even attended the Taylor Swift Eras concert with her Dad (thanks to the generosity of her amazing doctors). It was really as good an end to a wonderful life as we could have asked for. She would have been eighteen on February 21.

She'll be missed by all who knew her but especially her amazing sisters Ailsa (age 13) and Willow (age 7).

Thank you to all of her health care team at Sick Kids and Emily's House Children's Hospice for all the care and compassion you gave to us and to our amazing crazy girl.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to The Hospital for Sick Children, Emily's House Hospice, Easter Seals of Ontario or the Toronto Zoo. Or whatever you please, really, Zoe liked a lot of stuff.

Feel free to wear your brightest (sparkliest) colours and there will be a reception following the scattering.

Zoe was an amazing little fighter. We spent time together recently which I will hold dear to my heart. Her little eyes filled with smiles and laughter. To her amazing family my deepest sympathies go out to you.
