The family of Yvonne Adair Kent of Toronto is saddened to announce her passing on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 90 years of age.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Donald Kent. Her children: Margaret, Robert, Rosemarie (Edward) and Sharaine (Tony). Her grandchildren: Timothy, Alison, Michael, Sarah, Teresa, Crystal, John, Nicole and Tyler and great-grandchildren; Robert, Cooper, Emily, Collin, Alexander, Talia, Ronin, Amelia, Mason, Jack and Nova. Also remembered by her sisters Ishbel and Glenna and numerous relatives and friends.
Yvonne was born in the Cayman Islands, moved to Jamaica as a teenager, lived for a short time in Aruba and again in Jamaica before immigrating to Canada in the early 1960s with her family. She worked at Eaton’s for many years and was a beloved baby-sitter. She enjoyed crocheting and made numerous blankets and afghans of all sizes, still coveted by friends and family today. Yvonne was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she attended Sunday service and other social events, she particularly loved their “Jewels” program.
Due to Covid restrictions, there will not be a visitation nor a gathering following the private memorial service held for family and close friends on October 2nd at 11am at Fellowship Baptist Church in Markham.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honour of Yvonne at the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimer Society of Canada or a charity close to your own heart.
