Mrs. Lin Yu Ying Yung
October 22, 1928 – November 22, 2020

Yu Ying passed away at 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 22, 2020 with her loving husband of 73 years by her side.

She was born in Xin Hui, Guang Dong, China.

In 1979, Yu came to Canada to be reunited with Kwan Hop after many years of separation. From 1979 – 2009, Yu Ying and Kwan Hop operated the Lido Restaurant in Milton, Ontario along with most of their children.

She will leave a void in the life of her husband, Kwan Hop and children, Lan Yue (Kun King), Sher Kang (Elizabeth), Sim (Tom), Sher Wei (Moo), Li Chan (Zheng He), Mei Fong (Wilson), and Sher Peng (Amanda) and grandchildren, Pauline (Paul), Denny (Joy), Amy, Alex, Brandon, Daniel, Jordan, Liana (Clinton), William (Grace), Allan, Linda (Alvin), Denise, Mark, and Janet. Rest in peace, sweet Matriarch.

Will always cherish the time I got to spend with you during my university years. All the memories from dim sum on the weekends to the joy and smile on your face when showing you one of my dragonboat medals from a festival. You have shaped and inspired me with your stories from back home in China, in which I have had the opportunity to visit. You have shown me first hand how to persevere in life's challenges and aspire to have a long and fulfilling life similar to yours. You will be truly missed and it breaks my heart that I can't be there in person.

Love you grandma,
William Yung
