Yan Ching loved to cook and take care of the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and cruising with her family, having visited Australia, Asia, Hawaii, and many countries in Europe. Her most favourite pasttime and joy was being with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved nothing more in life than being with everyone. She was the foundation of our family and we will miss her dearly. She will always be in our hearts.

Mah Yan Ching-She is a beautiful Soul. I have the privilege and honour of calling her My Mom.
You and Dad were amazing parents. You were the best people that I know. We need to acknowledge and remember all their sacrifices so that we can have better lives.
Despite of all her trauma and sufferings, she lived her life with grace, immense love, kindness, generosity and forgiveness. She was everyone’s “Loving Grandma” and she earned that title.
She was an amazing woman not because she was my mother. She was my role model. Her courage, resilience and unwavering optimism always gave me hope and to be better.
She was an outstanding cook. I can taste the sticky rice and the spicy Ja Ja noodles as I write. She brought such comfort and connection with her fabulous meals and her genuine presence.
Her spirit lives on in our hearts and our souls. I know this, I can feel it! I know I will be joining you again someday.
Thank you for loving me.
Thank you for being there for me.
Thank you for being My Mom.
I love you. Rest in peace.

A few words dedicated to my beloved Grand Auntie, Yan Ching Mah:
Being a mom, grand-mom and great grand-mom, she had great love and affection for all her family members, especially small children.
She loved cooking. Whenever there was a special occasion or family gathering, she spent hours in the kitchen preparing food for the party. She enjoyed the work. She was so dedicated to it and never felt tired. Her satisfaction came from the smiling faces of everyone who enjoyed her cooking.
She had an amazing memory. Even at the age of 90 plus, whenever I talked to her on the phone, she always asked after my wife and kids. At the time when my parents were still there, she talked to each of them in turn, showing her kindness and care for everyone.
She will remain in our hearts.

Dear Mom,
It’s so hard to say goodbye as I suddenly feel like a lost child in a dark cave and crying out for her mother. Deep inside my mind, you were an incredible strong woman not only you had overcome many hardships and challenges during your life time and you were the light, the invisible strength and the foundation of love in our big family.
We will always remember you dressed fashionably with a bright smile, your kind and gentle touch, your soft voice and your heart warming dishes.
Mom, thank you for all the wonderful things that you had done for us.
Mom, I love you ❤️
May God keeping you and rest in peace!
