In memory of

Winston Lawrence

June 27, 1958 -  November 24, 2021

Winston passed away at Credit Valley Hospital on November 24, 2021 at the age of 63 years old. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife June, daughter Morgan and son-in-law Tom, grandson Quinten, mother Joycelyn, brother Andy and sister-in-law Julie, his brother-in-law David and sister-in-law Patricia Richardson, his nieces and nephews - Jason, Kristin (Aaron), James (Christie), Stephanie and great nieces and nephews – Jase, Isaiah, Aaliyah, Malachi, Hannah, Isaac, Ryland and Savannah. He is now with his father, the late Dr. Thomas Lawrence and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jane and Jim Richardson.

Winston was born in Trinidad and his family immigrated to Canada when he was 11 years old. He attended Woodlands High School in Mississauga and not only excelled in academics but as a member of the basketball team. He met and married his high school sweetheart June and this year they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. He graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. Winston and June had the opportunity to live in Swaziland for two and half years when Winston was working on a project for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). Winston employed his visionary skills for a career as an entrepreneur, with a specialty in technology. He demonstrated avid encouragement and continually supported June in following her dream of opening and operating her own business, The June Lawrence School of Dance.

Winston and June’s home was always the welcoming place for family gatherings for all holidays and special occasions. Winston was appreciative for the care he has received over the last few years from many individuals and medical teams and in particular, the Toronto General Hospital. Donations in his memory may be made to the Toronto General Hospital at www.uhnfoundation.ca/donation or by mail at UHN Foundation, 190 Elizabeth St., Toronto, ON. Winston will be cremated and an internment will be held in Southampton, Ontario at a later date.

He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

Dear June and Morgan,
David and I have been so blessed to have you and Winston as our neighbours, and to us, you are truly family. We have so many wonderful memories of all the times we’ve shared— watching our children play together in our front or back yards, chatting over a cup of coffee in your home or mine, birthday celebrations, graduations, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and even our children’s weddings. We’ve always enjoyed discussions with Winston, even if he did take pleasure in playing the devil’s advocate. May the memories of all our happy times with Winston, turn your tears into smiles.
With love and heartfelt sympathy,
Lorraine and David Lawrence

June Morgan and family, our condolences to you all! Our thoughts and prayers are with you! Winston was a part of our family gathering for many years on New Year’s Eve! Even when he got ill, we felt he was with us, knowing he was waiting for the food next door! Always a gentleman and with a smile on his face! May he Rest In Peace and may you be strong, he would want it that way! June, you took such good care of him! Great couple, wonderful family! Winston you will missed, never to be forgotten! ❤️🙏
