In memory of

William Wall

May 20, 1928 -  December 24, 2023

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of William Wall (age 95) at his home in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Bill passed peacefully with family by his side. He will be missed by Barbara, his cherished wife of 54 years, his loving daughter Debra-Joy Wolstein (Margaret Wood-Hodges), and devoted and beloved family and dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents; Laura (nee Lupovich) and Morris Wolstein and his siblings; Jack Wall, Fannie Freedman, Gertrude Fisher and Ruth Ravinsky.

Bill will be remembered for a lifetime of accomplishment and contribution. He was a participant in the Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer, completing 12 rides, the final one in June 2023, inspiring many to join his cause. He rescued and adopted several Greyhounds, was a long time member and past president of the Toronto Doctors Lions Club, volunteered at the Bloorview Kids Rehab Centre, and was a member of the CNIB Foundation.

Bill retired from full time employment in 1992 and continued working as a consultant until he lost his eyesight to macular degeneration in 2003. His varied career included being a successful businessman, property developer, clothier, hospitality manager and entertainer. His passions included photography, politics, music, literature and of course his family and friends.

Bill considered home to be Montreal, Toronto, and Niagara Falls, and enjoyed many winters as a snowbird in Florida.

To honour Bill's memory, a Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, February 11th at 10:30 AM at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre located at 1535 S Gateway Rd, Mississauga, ON L4W 5G6, where his loved ones, family and friends can gather and remember his long life and legacy.

He will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
May his memory and the 'Power of Bill' continue to inspire.

I met this incredible man over an airbag light in his beautiful Mazda 929. We never got that thing fix but we found an amazing friendship.
Bill Wall was an absolute glorious man. ( maybe not so much when that airbag light was staring at him). He would get plum red mad over that light, it annoyed the life out of him. It got to the point that he would say when it comes on, it reminds him to come say hi to me!
I am sitting here with a grin on my face because he made me laugh and smile.
I moved to the United States 20 years ago and I lost touch, until a friend sent me a news broadcast of Bill’s amazing race for cancer. I got to hear his voice again and although it was calmer and more peaceful than prior, I was still the amazing man I remembered.
He loved Barb, he loved his family, he loved caring for people, he loved life, and enjoyed all on these as much as he could.
I can truly say that I am a better person in life because of Bill Wall was a friend.
Until we meet again kind Sir! Until we met again.
To Barb and his family, thank you for sharing him with the world, my heart and prayers are with each of you.

Like many of us, feel so fortunate to meet Bill.
On the sunny morning, on the annual R.T.C.C Toronto - Niagara falls.
Bill was standing by his bike, surrounded by his friends, wearing a bike helmet, white cane, and the sign on his bike jersey had said - Blind Rider !
Well that is something, you don't see every day!
And then there was Bill's infectious smile, gentle voice, friendly and inspiring conversations.
Will never forget you Mr. Bill Wall, you are the wind in my back, sunshine above me, strength on a bumpy road, and my forever inspiration.
Will be missing you, but I know, you will always be with me, in the special place in my heart forever, thank you. Jana
