William Kan Kong Mark

William Kan Kong Mark

21 April 1923 – 19 Jun 2020

Peacefully passed at the Markham Stouffville Reactivation Care Centre in his 97th year.
Survived by his wife Yiu Sin (Cynthia) of 66 years and his four boys, Ken (Michele), Mike, Gord (Jenn) and Sandy (Diane – late).
Proud Yeye, jokester, and cane poker extraordinaire to Jade, Drake, Tai, Anastasia, Loghan, Courtney, Colin, Reilly and Reefe.
William loved to eat and enjoyed every family gathering and food fest to the fullest. Always sneaking food to all family pets and always getting caught. William was keen to eat out, with Yum Cha being his favourite. And whenever someone else offered to pay, William would say “Your money isn’t any good here”.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in William’s memory to Markham Stouffville Hospital.
A private family service has been chosen.
His irreplaceable laugh will forever be in our hearts!

So many memories! I will never forget our trip to Florida: we were at the "Great Wall of China" exhibit and you ran and jumped to touch the lowest tree branches like a little kid!
And you were so proud that you could still jump that high in your 70's! Later that night at dinner prior to ordering we noticed that all of the meals were massive US portions. Ken and I decided to split one based on the size. Ma just ordered the appetizer size. You decided to order a full meal for yourself. It was so big, it came on 2 plates. We had leftovers and you polished off everything you were given.
