In memory of

William John Kenneth (Ken) Davies

January 21, 1929 -  June 29, 2022

Our father, Ken, passed peacefully at home after 93 years of great adventures.

Born in the village of Cwmllynfell, Wales, Ken immigrated to Canada in 1956 where he began a new life in Toronto. He met and married his first love, the late Rita, and they had three children. There was nothing more important than family to Ken. His smile and joy overflowed when he was together for family gatherings, which now expanded to include six grandchildren. While living in Canada, Ken kept his Welsh roots strong by being a member of Dewi Saint Welsh Church. He remained in close touch with his loving sister, cousins and other family in Wales.

Ken loved the outdoors, puttering in the garden, enjoying life at his cottage, and wintering in Florida. The last decade of his life was spent in Unionville, close to family and making new friends at Wyndham Gardens, especially his close friend Heather. Coffee hour, special theme dinners, and after-dinner sing-songs were popular condominium events. Up until a week before his passing, Ken enjoyed sitting outside in the afternoon chatting with his friends from the building.

Our father showed us to live life to the fullest, enjoy the company of others, and always live in the present. Thanks Dad.

Private interment for immediate family will take place in the near future. Please feel free to make a donation in Ken’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

If roses grow in heaven, Lord please pick a bunch from me, place them in my brother's arms and tell him him they are from me. Tell him I love and miss him and when he turns to smile, place a kiss upon his cheek and hold him for a while. Missing you from your sister Eileen.
Sorry to hear of the sad news of my brother Ken. Although we lived in different countries, for many years he was a brilliant brother to me and I will always remember our childhood growing up in Cwmllynfell, where we spent many happy years o

My father was a teacher of life lessons that will remain with me and be passed to future generations. He worked hard to be a mentor, advisor, friend, and father.
He always was a source of encouragement for whatever my ambitions were.

He lived a full life. Growing up in Wales during the depression of the ’30s, served in the navy in the 40s, finding his way to Canada in the 50s. Then raising a family and enjoying a long retirement in Canada and Florida. We can all hope that we should be so lucky in our lives.

When one passes on we think did they have a full life? I can say without a doubt my father enjoyed his time to the fullest.

I will always feel your presence, rest in peace.

My sincere condolences. Ken will always be remembered at the church as he introduced the "Penny Collection". The children of the Sunday School would collect pennies and later small change weekly from the congregation for donation to Sleeping Children Around the World. God Bless You Ken!

Ross and I remember Ken as a man with a strong commitment to his Welsh roots. Another loss for the Dewi Sant family.
God Bless....Betty Cullingworth
