In memory of

William James Blackburn

April 1, 1946 -  April 27, 2019

On the evening of Saturday April 27, William (Bill) Blackburn,73, passed away at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital.

He leaves behind his daughter, Megan and husband Edward Cox, his daughter Rachel, their mothers, and his brother Robert and partner Gordon Manock.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, John, and his mother, Margaret.

Bill was born in Toronto and maintained his love for the city throughout his entire life. His vibrant and dynamic personality aligned perfectly to the energy of the big city.

Bill was known for his quick and dry wit. At his prime, he was always the life of the party.

Bill spent the later years of his life coaching and supporting on his daughter’s softball team. He was truly at home on the baseball diamond. He was an avid sports fan with a knack for remembering obscure facts. Bill loved all Toronto sports teams but had a particular love of the Toronto Blue Jays.

As an aficionado of American politics, his only religion was a devout viewership of CNN.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday May 6 between the hours of 6pm to 9pm at the Brogue restaurant, 136 Lakeshore Road East in Mississauga.

Billy I’m sorry to see you leave the diamond. At least you were not kicked out. You’ll be missed by opposing coaches and “most” of the umpires. You had an impact on all girls you coached. Thank you for welcoming us into the fold so many years ago. Your wit and barks will be/are sadly missed. Thank you
