Wendy Miller
April 23, 1953 - February 22, 2015
Wendy Elaine Miller, 61, died peacefully on February 22, 2015 at home surrounded by family. She was born April 23, 1953 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Daisy Elaine and Grenville (Dick) Richards. Part of her childhood was also spent with Ann and Dick Richards in Southern Ontario and then later returned to Thunder Bay where she received her Nursing Diploma from Confederation College in 1976. Wed in 1977, she then settled in Brampton, Ontario and worked as a nurse predominantly at Trillium Hospital for over 20 years.
She was a loving wife to Clare Miller, devoted mother to her three children Lindsay (Dave Christen), Terry (Robyn Miller), & Carley, daughter-in-law to Charlie and Valerie Miller, step-daughter to Lola Richards, and sister to Richard Richards, Paula Sklazeski, Wayne Richards, Cheryl Wilson, Doreen Lesnick and Michelle Vidberg, and sister-in-law to Kim Miller and Connie and Darryl Wilson. Her hard-fought battle with cancer was nothing short of inspiring. She was incredibly loved and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A memorial took place at Bramalea Baptist Church, Brampton on Friday, February 27, 2015. Pastor Mark Scott of Fenelon Falls former pastor at Slate river Baptist church officiated. In lieu of flowers any donations are welcome to the Children's Heart Project. The Children's Heart Project is a program within Samaritans Purse that brings children in need of heart surgeries to North America for care. Wendy and Clare Miller have been hosts of Bolivian children during their heart surgeries and recover and this program is very dear to her heart.
