Wah Chun Chan

Dr. Wah Chun Chan, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 3, 2016 in Toronto. Born in Shanwei, China, he studied in Hong Kong and Taipei before moving to Canada to pursue his Master’s and PhD degrees at UNB and UBC, respectively. Dr. Chan, Professor Emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Calgary, dedicated most of his career to teaching and mentoring students as well as publishing research and scientific books. He had a lifelong passion for Chinese calligraphy, books, studying Chinese medicine, history, and table tennis.

Wah Chun was devoted to his family and will be lovingly remembered by his wife Yu-Chih, daughters Eileen (Al), Jean (Aaron), Vivian (Brian), son An-Wen (Jenny), and grandsons Kaeden and Cole.

Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in support of the Myeloma Research Fund.
