In memory of

Vivianne Rankin

June 27, 1963 -  November 22, 2020

Vivianne Rankin (Bedard)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vivianne Rankin: beautiful wife, devoted mother, supportive sister, loving daughter and caring friend.
After 2 years, Vivianne's courageous battle with pancreatic cancer ended on Sunday, November 22, 2020. She died peacefully, surrounded in the love of family. And always nearby, friends, neighbours and extended family supported her throughout her struggle.

She was born June 27, 1963, in Sudbury, Ontario, the daughter of Leon Bedard (Jeannine) and Alice Bedard (nee Charlebois). She is survived by her parents as well as her husband, Douglas Rankin, daughter Annie; brothers Dan Bedard (Tara) and Don Bedard, sister Lee-Anne Bedard (Pierre). Inspirational aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

Vivianne attended Garson Falconbridge high school in Garson, ON and did post-secondary studies at Laurentian (Sudbury) and UBC (Vancouver), where she was one of the first graduates with a diploma in digital marketing – a burgeoning, new field of the late 1990’s. Vivianne worked in digital marketing for many years; helping a broad range of organizations from startups to large financial institutions. Later, Vivianne followed her passion for health and fitness; becoming a certified nutritional therapist as well as a certified personal trainer. She wrote and published a book; Gut Check, a guide for people looking to fight chronic illness and understand the connection between nutrition and health.

Hobbies include skiing, golfing, tennis, kayaking and yoga. She was a fierce competitor at cribbage, backgammon, euchre and board games. A celebration of Vivianne’s life is being planned for a time in 2021 when larger gatherings can be held safely. Those wishing to make a donation can do so through the Canadian Cancer Society.

Vivianne and I had wonderful times living together . She was spontaneous and open to trying new things .
We recently connected and there was never a gap in our separation. Started right back where we left off. I will greatly miss her and Vivianne you were so loved.

Doug: Words aren't enough to describe the feelings and the emotion so please just know that Faith and I are thinking about you and Annie and of course about Vivianne. Our hearts go out to you during this terrible time. With one foot in front of the other we hope the passing of time dulls the pain and eventually you are left with positive thoughts.
We pray that Vivianne's memory be a blessing to you and Annie.
Love
Kenny and Faith
