In memory of

Victor Lam 林城先生

November 15, 1960 -  September 9, 2023

VICTOR SHENG LAM 1960 – 2023 It is with great sadness that the family of Victor Lam announce his passing on Saturday, September 9, in Toronto, at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Victor was born on November 15, 1960 and was a graduate of McMaster University. He enjoyed a long and rewarding career in marketing and sales. He will be lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by his partner, his son with his former spouse, his mother, sisters and brother-in-law, as well as extended family members and close friends. Victor was predeceased by his father.

Victor was a keen traveller and an avid golfer with a membership with Club Links. He loved sports and was skillful in a number that he took on – badminton, tennis, and soccer earlier on, and his ultimate hobby, golf, in later years. He loved to spend time with family and friends the only way he knew how: cooking, eating, and golfing. Those who have spent time with Victor know what a talented and creative cook he was. No matter the season, in the summer or winter, he found ways to enjoy his passions: barbequing and cooking for friends and family over Christmas holiday parties and impromptu summer gatherings; driving to Niagara Falls at four in the morning to fit 36 holes for the day; playing 18 during the one day in January the snow would mysteriously melt away; or beating the Mediterranean sun to play golf at dawn in Provence and to return in time to join the family sight seeing for the day.

A private funeral service will be held.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Princess Margaret Hospital and the Toronto General Hospital for their medical care of Victor for the past few years and to the Harold and Shirley Lederman Palliative Care Centre for their compassion and for making his last few days as comfortable as possible.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Princess Margaret Foundation in Victor’s name would be greatly appreciated by the family.
