In memory of

Veronica Gobin

June 20, 1924 -  January 14, 2018

Veronica Gobin passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. We, her children and our spouses, Gloria (Leo), Shirley (Kishore), Pearly (Issac), Joyce (Fred), Rob (Sandy), Rudy (Shelly), Rick (Nanda), Pat (Shlomi) and Randy are very grateful for the time we have had with our mother. Having lost her husband over forty years ago in Trinidad, Veronica was a pioneer in bringing her family to Canada. She was our rock and guiding light and cared for each one of us like we were her only child. She taught us the real meaning of family and how to stay close and care for each other, a testament to the bond now shared by her children, 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Veronica is also fondly remembered by her brothers, Arnim, Austin and Wilbert and their loving families as well as her departed siblings Bertie and Sylvia.

Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Fountain View Care Community and at Michael Garron Hospital: formerly Toronto East General Hospital, for their tender loving care of our mother.

A visitation will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre at 375 Mount Pleasant Road Toronto, on Monday January 15, 2018 from 4:00-6:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. The family has requested a private funeral for family and close friends on Tuesday January 16, at 1:30pm at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.

"Her children rise up and call her blessed."—Proverbs 31:28

I will always cherish my memories of Aunty Shirley. She was a kind and loving aunt who blessed the lives of all whom she touched. My life was better because she was a part of it.
