The Trklja family is saddened to announce the loss of Veljko, who passed away peacefully on January 15th in his 79th year. Beloved husband to Zorka for 48 wonderful years. Proud father to Spiro, Vladimir and Milan. Adored grandfather to Cameron, Alexsander, Lucas and James. Veljko will also be dearly missed by his brother Mirko Trklja and sister Sophia Zelenovic and extended family members in Canada and Bosnia Herzegovina.

Veljko loved his family deeply and was very proud of his grandkids. Being around his grandkids was his biggest joy. After working hard his whole life he enjoyed being retired for 20 years. He was a dedicated family man and cherished spending time with them. He fought a courageous battle against dementia for 1.5 years and died peacefully surrounded by family members during a weekend home visit.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at York Funeral Centre. Another visitation will occur the following morning at 9:00 am and a Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 am. As a gesture of gratitude, all guests are welcomed back to the funeral centre for a reception afterwards. In lieu of floral tributes, the Trklja family kindly asks that you consider making a donation to Hope for Dementia in Veljko’s memory.
