In memory of

Vasilios Papailias

September 20, 1927 -  January 9, 2018

Papailias, Vasilios
September 20, 1927 – January 9, 2018
Vasilios passed away peacefully at Scarborough Hospital in his 91st year, after a short battle with pneumonia. Devoted husband of 64 years to the late Sophia who predeceased him one year ago. Deeply loved and respected father of Helen (Tom) Nedinis and Frances (Savas) Asikis. Beloved grandfather and shopping/lunch partner of Frances, beer buddy and bbq guru of Paul (Angela), right-hand-man of Catherine, courtroom cheerleader of Victoria and playmate of great grandchildren Anastasios Vasilios and Antonia Rozalia. Vasilios was born in Antartikon, Greece and was a true patriot of both Greece and Canada. He was a lifelong sports fan and loved watching all sports especially soccer and hockey. He was a Leafs fan to the very end with great hopes that “this year would be our year”. In his last year, he discovered a love of crafting and created treasured bejeweled keepsakes for his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved more than anything in the world. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Go Leafs Go!
