CHYCZIJ, Ursula

Tuesday March 16, 2021 at Brampton Civic hospital, Ursula Chyczij (nee Schaedner) passed peacefully in her 87th year. Ursula was a long-time resident of Southbrook Retirement Centre in Brampton. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 54 years, Mikhail Chyczij.
Ursula is survived by Harold (Cathy Flood) of Edmonton and Christina Early (Glen) of Caledon East. She will be missed as the awesome grandmother to six grandchildren Greg, Katrina, Maddie, Caitlyn, Jessica and Sara as well as several family dogs that she loved so much.
Ursula emigrated from Germany in 1950 to begin a new life in Canada. Working for the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, she was able to re-locate and work at Jasper Park Lodge for a few summers; this summer job proved to be her lifelong favorite and was so happy to return to her beautiful Jasper several years later to see the many changes. After marrying Mike in 1957, they started a family in Ottawa and then moved close by to Gloucester where they cultivated many friendships with community friends and neighbors.
A private family service and cremation will be held Friday March 19 at Meadowvale in Brampton. An interment at Sawyerchuk Cemetery in Ottawa will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made to Caledon Community services (Exchange) or a food bank of your choice.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Harold and family. The Chyczij family has always been a shining example of what family is all about. It sounds like they learned from the best. 💔
