In memory of

Troy Preston Antonio "Twinkle" Mussington

May 3, 1990 -  February 2, 2024

As the curtain falls on a life less ordinary, we raise a smile, tipping our hats to the irrepressible spirit of Troy Preston Antonio Mussington—affectionately dubbed "Twinkle" by those caught in his radiant orbit who took his final bow on the world's stage this second day of February, 2024. At the sprightly age of thirty-three, in the very city that had the good fortune to witness his debut, Toronto. Troy winked out, leaving a trail of laughter in his wake.

On the third of May, back in the sprightly spring of 1990, Troy burst onto the scene, and danced into the world with a jest in his step and a twinkle in his eye. A life begun with a chuckle, he was the family's very own stand-up comedian, known to some as the 'Canadian Dave Chappelle'. Troy was a talent for turning the everyday into a cavalcade of chuckles, with just a six-second "Vine" video or a quip delivered in a perfectly timed accent.

Beneath the spotlight of his mother Adlet's love, Troy shone with the warmth of their unbreakable bond and unconditional love. She was his steadfast stagehand, ensuring he always had the props he needed on this journey through life's scenes. Alongside his brothers, D'Andre and Orlando their trio a harmonious ensemble Troy had a devotion as protective and supportive as any famed Three Musketeers with his brothers.

To his grandmother Lily, he was more than a grandchild; he was her trusty 'handbag', a partner in travel when he was younger. Aunt Marlene, his second-in-command in the maternal department, keeping him swathed in the latest trends, along side Uncle Mark, the father figure of his life. All played their roles in shaping our star.

Troy exits stage left but is survived by an adoring cast: Mother Adlet, Brothers D'Andre and Orlando, Grandmother Lily, Aunt Marlene, Uncle Mark, a chorus line of cousins, and a fan club of friends. The stage of life will feel a little emptier without Troy’s presence, but his spirit will carry on. And so, as we drop the final curtain on Troy "Twinkle" Preston Antonio Mussington, let's not say goodbye, but 'bravo' to a life well-played, chuckling all the way to that great comedy club in the sky.

Troy, you were one of the funniest, most genuine, and most trustworthy friends anyone could ask for. I know we weren't as close towards the end, and I so wish I could have been there for you more, but I want you to know your memory will stay with me eternally.

I'll never forget the times we had, whether in my basement, or roaming around East York in our youth. You brought a laughter and a brightness to our group that will be forever dimmed without you there. I think all of us were waiting for you to come back, and now that you are truly gone, it feels like a part of our childhood has been extinguished.

I hope you find the peace you deserve, Troy. I'm so sorry to be so far away and unable to make it this week, but please know that I'll be there in spirit. I miss you man, now and forever.

Troy, no one could bring a smile to your face or a laugh straight to your soul quicker than you. I appreciate all the positivity you have radiated to us over all these years. From you and Duane rolling through EYCIs halls, bringing laughter around each corner to the countless evenings spent in Jim's basement with equal amounts of laughter, you will always hold a dear place in my heart. Until we meet again my friend,

Ben

So sorry for your loss. I loved Troy like a brother as did so many others. He had a way of making everyone feel so important and funny, just like he is.

A beacon of joy has winked upon the shores of life, and a new star has bloomed brilliant in the sky of our memory.
Rest in power, Troy.
