In memory of

Tina Colmer

Loving wife and mother. She exemplified Christian virtues in life and stayed
faithful to God unto her last breath. She is survived by her husband, daughter
and son who all miss her terribly.

Soli Deo Gloria.

Tina was a beautiful, kind hearted woman, who was a pleasure to know. She bestowed ultimate kindness and love to her family and everyone she met. Wishing you all peace to bring comfort to face the days ahead and loving memories to hold on to. May she rest in peace. Xoxo

I met Tina in the parking lot at Tyndale when she was picking up her son, Rich, and she offered me a ride as I was living relatively close to the Colmer’s at the time. We discussed the faith and I remember being struck by how seriously and highly she spoke about tithing and how the Lord is so good to those who are generous with their wealth. She inspired me to give more to the Church through her generosity of spirit.

As, my now fiancé, Liam and I, became better friends with Rich, it was his mom who would drive us to adoration or Mass, making the Catholic faith a core part of our friendship. When we played Settlers of Catan, there were always so many snacks; guests never left the Colmer residence hungry and we had Tina to thank for that!

She lived cheerfully and in complete surrender to God’s Will, having complete faith in His plan. Her witness to Catholic living especially in family life and personal prayer has been an inspiration to me personally and I am forever grateful to have known her.

Grant, O Lord, eternal rest in blessed repose to Your ever-to-be-remembered servant, Tina, and make her memory eternal. With the Saints give rest, O Christ, to the soul of Thy servant where there is neither sickness, nor sorrow, nor sighing, but life everlasting. Amen.

Tina, or Christina, as I knew her growing up, was one of the most amazing, caring, altruistic people. She was a babysitter and a second mother to me and was a major part of my life growing up. What mattered to her the most was making sure that her family and others around her were well and happy. She always wanted the most for Richie and Jessie, and is the reason they have become the strong, loving people they are today. I remember all of the times she would go out of her way for Richie, our friends, and I to make us feel loved, if it was spending an entire day with us at Canada’s wonderland or giving us unlimited amounts of ice cream, she would do it without hesitation. As well as all of the sleepovers Richie and I would have that she tolerated, keeping her and Chris up most of the night only to wake up in the morning with a smile on her face just glad to know that we were having fun and that we were happy. She was so welcoming and inviting to anyone that came into her home and would do whatever it took to make sure they were comfortable. She will always be remembered as a graceful, loving soul who would do whatever it takes to bring joy upon others. Rest in peace Tina, you will never be forgotten.

I only had the privilege to meet Tina once, but one time was all I needed to realize how kind and genuine of a human being she was. I had the pleasure to have a few good conversations with Tina, concerning religion and academia. Although our religious views differed, she was open to and happy that I had my own beliefs, which is a rarity in today's world. She will sorely be missed by many. I wish the Comer family strength and resilience during these hard times, stay strong.

Much love,

Jon

It broke my heart to hear this sad news. I remember hanging out with Rich when we we're younger and every time I would go to his house Tina would be so welcoming and charming. Everyone knew Tina was the 'Cool' mom, who would get us all popsicles on a hot summer day while we jumped on Rich's trampoline in the backyard, or laugh along with us while we did the all the crazy things kids do. My thoughts are with the family and friends of Tina.
