In memory of

Linda Ann Thompson

March 16, 1944 -  October 5, 2021

Linda Ann Thompson
( nee Skinkle )

Linda passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on October 5th, 2021 after a valiant attempt to overcome cancer. She lived a life full of love, integrity and generosity and touched the hearts of everyone around her.

Linda’s passion was real estate and her entrepreneurial spirit led her into a career as a real estate agent in the Quinte area for many years before moving to Toronto where she established and operated a real estate brokerage ( HomeLife/Realty One Ltd ) for thirty years.

She grew up in a rural setting in Prince Edward County, the daughter of John and Edith Skinkle and the youngest of seven children. The County held a very special place in her heart and she returned there every summer with her beloved husband Tom to enjoy life at the cottage with their family and friends. Linda will be profoundly missed by her children, Sandra, Scott and Sam, her granddaughter Tiffany, her nieces and nephews and her wonderful extended family Deb ( Ian ), Linda, Janice ( Tom ), Don ( Lisa ), seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Linda was also blessed with a wide circle of dear friends that brought incredible joy to her life.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations in memory of Linda can be made to Covenant House using the link at the bottom of this webpage. Many thanks.

Linda was a one of a kind blessed person. She cared deeply for everyone and never failed to help, give, donate, celebrate. Her passion for her family, friends, work, staff and colleagues, had no boundaries. She created a special and unique company on strong foundations. She will not be forgotten as she leaves so much and so many behind who will not forget her and will strive to carry on her legacy.

Linda you were my mentor, my idol and I learned so much from you. It made me a better person and I’ll try my best to be worthy of your exemplary attitude & conduct. You were the best friend anyone could ever hope for.
Please talk to God up there and reserve me a good spot near you. I’ll see you soon.

We were introduced to Linda and Tom by our former neighbour, Marg. Over several summers we were welcomed to the cottage and shown amazing hospitality. Always welcoming, always generous, we will remember with fondness.
