In memory of

Theofany Tsirigotis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theofany Tsirigotis, who left this world on April 24, 2023 at the age of 81. He was born on January 17, 1942, to his parents Dimitrios and Eugenia, who have long since passed. Youngest brother of 5, he is survived by his brother Michael and his sister Georgia and joins his sister Anastasia and his brother George in paradise. Theofany grew up in a tight-knit community in Asopos, Lakonia, Greece, where he learned the values of hard work, family, and faith that would guide him throughout his life.

In 1976, Theofany married the love of his life, Spiridoula, and they were blessed with three children. Theofany was a devoted husband and father who always put his family first. He worked tirelessly to provide for them and was always there for them whenever they needed him.

Theofany was a man of many talents and interests. He was an avid gardener who loved to spend his free time tending to his vegetable garden and fig trees. He was also a skilled handyman who could fix just about anything around the house. Theofany was a devout Orthodox Christian who lived his life according to his faith.

Theofany is survived by his beloved wife, Spiridoula; his daughter, Jenny, and her husband, Andreas, and their two sons, Dimitri and Theofany; his son, Dimitrios, and his wife, Magdalena, and their two sons, Alex and Lucas; and his son, Angelo. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A visitation for Theofany will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 2:30pm until 6:00pm at the Elgin Mills Cemetery & Funeral Centre, located at 1591 Elgin Mills Road East in Richmond Hill. The funeral service for Theofany will be held on Monday May 1, 2023 at 11:30am at the St. Panteleimon Greek Orthodox Church, located at 11323 Warden Ave. in Markham with Interment to follow at the Elgin Mills Cemetery. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in memory of Theofany Tsirigotis.

I am sorry to hear about your dad's passing. It is never easy losing a loved one, and know that if you need anything at all, I am here to support you, in any way I can....just a flight away, and we know I am in Toronto often enough!

I hope you find comfort in the memories you shared with him and in the love of those around you. Sending you and your family all the love and strength during this time.

What am I to say about my Nouno Theofany. I read the outpouring of beautiful messages for him and you can see how people felt for him.

I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He was absolutely an amazing person and I loved him very much. You can see the amazing family he has left behind. I always liked being around him, and looked forward to seeing him and spending time with him when I would come up to Toronto or he would come down to Sarnia. He would always make me smile and laugh. I wished we were closer to see him more. I was blessed to have him and the amazing Tsirigotis family in my life. I am proud to call him Nouno. I will always think of him. My thoughts and prayers to the Tsirigotis family during this difficult time.
