Teodora Popa (Ina) – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Teodora (known as Ina) Popa at the age of 75, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side on January 24th, 2022 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She leaves behind her daughter Teodora and grand-daughter Andrea. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends in both Canada and Romania.
Ina loved her daughter Teodora, who she raised as a single mother since 1989 after her divorce. She always supported and encouraged her daughter to pursue all her dreams, even when that meant making sacrifices herself. Ina immigrated to Canada in 2011 to be closer to her family after becoming a grandmother. She shared an incredible bond with her granddaughter Andrea who she loved and spoiled as often as possible. Ina’s Bachelor’s degree in Education allowed her to begin a career as a teacher before changing career paths to Human Resource Inspector for an Opera House in Romania, where her husband at the time, Alexandru was an Opera Singer.
Ina had a passion for classical music, art and learning new things. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving, caring, kind and generous woman.
