It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ted Michael Zaharchuk, in his 83rd year at Etobicoke General Hospital on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 surrounded by his family.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Constance Joyce Rose (nee Kostuik). Adored father to Michelle (Ted Alexopoulos) and Kimberley (Derek Cation). Devoted grandfather to George, Michael, Annie and Sarah.

He will be deeply missed by his family and remembered for his love of adventure, books and story-telling.

May his memory be eternal.

Friends & Family may call at Elgin Mills Funeral Centre on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service and an interment at Elgin Mills Cemetery.

It’s with extreme sadness and sorrow that I learned of Teddy’s death. We were often referred to as brothers separated at birth. Both of us were pilots and often flew together in Ted’s Cessna 240 to his Bal Harbor Summer Home. I just spoke to him recently and we had plans to get together in Toronto. I had wanted to know more about the history of our mutual grandfather but his unexpected and sorrowful death cancelled that desire. God bless you Teddy.
