Sydney passed away at Kingston General Hospital on November 20, 2025 at the age of 93. Loving husband of Marguerite for 63 years. Cherished father of Jeremy (Deborah) and Alastair, grandfather of Emily Cameron and Matthew Bissonnette (Cherryl), Uncle of Roxanna Kawall and Great Uncle of Sarina Kawall, brother of the late Kathleen Kawall and Malcolm Cameron . He will also be missed by many friends and relatives. Those who knew Sydney will forever remember him for his love of family, great sense of humour and his fighting and determined spirit, his big personality and kind demeanor will be missed by all. As per his own wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. A celebration of Sydney’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787. The family wish to extend their gratitude to the nurses, support staff, and doctors of the dialysis unit and the cardiac unit of Kingston General Hospital who provided the care that Sydney received as he battled his health issues over the years .
