In memory of

Susana Sau Ping Kwok

June 25, 1948 -  June 26, 2022

Susana passed away peacefully after spending time with her daughter and grandson to celebrate her 74th birthday the day before. She was the devoted wife of the late Wilson Kwok, loving mother of Wendy (Francis), proud grandmother of Zachary, and dedicated sister of Sau Kam, Jos, Antony (Bonnie) and Mason (Bonnie). She was survived by her superwoman mother, Yok Ying Chan.

Susana was a devoted Christian who spent at least 3 hours everyday studying the Bible and praying for her family and those in need. She rarely missed a prayer meeting at church, consistently attended Sunday School to learn the Word of the Lord and always attended worship service each week. A number of years ago, she started a small group with a focus on welcoming other women and single mothers. She was hoping that her own experience as a widow could help encourage others that life could continue to be rewarding and wonderful if we live in the riches of the Lord.

Susana was also dedicated to living out the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20). It gave her most joy and excitement when she was able to spread the gospel to others. Through her work, many people came to know Christ. Every Sunday before the pandemic, she would always stand at the "Fresh Start" station outside of the church sanctuary to look for newcomers and non-believers to whom she could welcome and tell them the good news of Jesus Christ.

The Lord blessed Susana throughout her life. He blessed her further by taking her back to His arms in a way that was very sudden, but through a medical condition that had no prior discomfort, pain, or suffering. After saying an extensive prayer giving thanks and blessing her family, Susana sat back on her chair with her eyes closed. She regained consciousness for a while and spoke with her daughter and son-in-law. Soon thereafter, she slept her way to Heaven peacefully.

Although we miss her, we know that she is now with the Lord, joining her late husband Wilson in Heaven.

To honor and respect Susana's love for evangelism and the study of the bible, in lieu of flowers, gifts received in her memory will be donated to two of the organizations that she loved most: Richmond Hill Christian Community Church and Chinese Graduate School of Theology. Thank you.

For those who are unable to attend the funeral service it will be livestreamed for public viewing on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 10 a.m.. (a link will be available on this memorial page at 9:30 a.m.).
