In memory of

Sun Ning Yu

August 1, 1949 -  July 6, 2018

Sunning Yu grew up in Hong Kong. He graduated from University of Western Ontario in Electrical Engineering. He worked as a Systems Engineer at Northern Telecom. He was a Drone Engineer in his retirement years. He was always a visionary and an innovator. He had ideas and creations way ahead of his time.

Despite his health challenges, he was able to carry out his motto: Don't let your perceived level of knowledge limit your ability to follow through with your ideas.

He sadly passed away on July 6, 2018 following his second coronary bypass surgery. He is survived by his brother Richard (Nancy), niece Caroline (Chris), and nephew Derek.

Sun Ning and I were "table mates" in Form 5. He had always been very generous to his friends. Fifty years ago he invited me to his home in Hong Kong. Two years ago, after not seeing each other for over half a century, Sun Ning and Chan Shu Wing organized to pick me up during my visit to Toronto. We had dim sum with several classmates and it was a joyous reunion.
He will be sorely missed.
Deepest condolence to the family.
