In memory of

Steven Toskan

April 13, 1959 -  October 2, 2024

Steven Toskan, aged 65, passed away on October 2, 2024 from pancreatic cancer.
Steven is survived by his devoted mother, Silvia (Manlio), and his cherished daughter, Vanessa (Emir). He leaves behind his siblings, Frank (Darren), Walter (Kathy), and Julie (Vince). Steven was predeceased by his father, Guido, whose memory he carried with him in all that he did. He leaves a legacy of love and connection through his nieces and nephews: Brett, Corey, Chris, Alex, Lucas, Greg, Kyle, Crystal, Jared, and Tyler.

Known for his remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, Steven had a unique gift for making people feel at ease. His warmth and humor drew people to him. He had a special fondness for old-school comedians that often reflected his own spirited personality. His love for life was evident in his passion for music, particularly jazz and classic rock. An avid drummer, he found joy in rhythm and often spent hours lost in the beat. He had a distinctive style, frequently wearing fedoras or bandanas that added a dash of flare to his already unique personality.

Life presented Steven with many challenges, but he faced each one with remarkable bravery and resilience. His struggles shaped him into an individual who understood the importance of kindness and connection. He had a big heart and was kind and generous.

One person who stood steadfastly by his side was his dear friend, Lorraine. Lorraine's unwavering support and compassion during Steven's health struggles were a testament to the bond they shared. Her dedication and love provided him with comfort and strength, and for that, his family is profoundly grateful.

Steven's spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Services will be held in the Chapel on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., Toronto. Visitation to commence at 11:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MADD Canada, a cause that Steven strongly believed in.

Dear Toskan family,
Steven’s passing struck us with great pain. Being a cheerful, and never a boring person, he certainly made a positive impact on anyone, and certainly on me, too. I cherish the short period of time we spent together many years ago, and I will always remember it with a smile. May his Soul find a peaceful rest, and his Spirit live on within us.
With our most sincere condolences,
Mitja with family

My most profound condolences to the entire family. I have fond memories of Steven attending the events of the Club Giuliano Dalmato di Toronto, of which his mother and father were assiduous members.
