STEVEN LEONARD BIRD
May 21, 1953 - May 16, 2016

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Steven Bird. After a courageous battle, Steve passed peacefully at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto on the morning of May 16, 2016. Born in Toronto and married for nearly 40 years, he is survived by his loving wife Norma, children Darryl (Amber), Shannon, Lauren (Isaac) and grandson Grayson.

Steve was a life-long sports fan and athlete. One of the warmest and most welcoming of people, he was known for being the life of the party. Steve was never short of stories to tell and nothing made him smile more than talking about his family. He always had time to tell anyone who would listen about how proud he was of all they had accomplished.

Visitation will take place at Pine Hills Visitation Centre in Scarborough on Thursday, May 19 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Those wishing to give condolences may make a donation in Steve’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society at http://www.cancer.ca

I am so sad to hear this news..........I worked on set with Steve on 2 to 3 productions and often saw him at auditions. It was a great privilege to know him, a great privilege to work with him. He was always full of good humour and laughter and a warm, caring human being. Rest in Peace Steven and I send my condolences to his loved ones.

I worked with Steve and really enjoyed it. He had wonderful stories to tell and was a guy that could really be counted on. I consider his passing a big loss and will pray for the family. O
