In memory of

Stephen So 蘇迪芬先生

October 19, 1965 -  June 8, 2024

Stephen leaves behind the love of his life Debby, their two children
Sabrina and Ethan, his mother Moo Bing So and siblings Hanson, Helen and
Wendy. He is predeceased by his father George So.

Stephen was the kind of guy that everyone wanted as a friend; great at
hockey, table tennis, badminton and especially golf. He loved to
entertain friends and family whenever he got a chance and was an
excellent cook. He was always the life of the party and he was never tired
of being helpful to others, like fixing a computer, or a car or
sometimes just listening to a friend or relative who had a problem. He
prided himself in being there for anyone who needed help and people
loved that the most about him.

Stephen was a professional engineer from the University of Waterloo
and was a longtime employee of the City of Toronto, as the Director of
Infrastructure. He was well respected by his subordinates as a bright,
knowledgeable and dedicated boss who always had time for their
problems. He was a great teacher and adviser and his colleagues will miss his presence dearly.

His departure was far too early for many different people for many
different reasons.

Dear baba,

Thank you for always putting us first and for everything you have done for me.

Thank you for teaching me everything I know, from how to write an essay, ride a bike, and fill up gas to teaching us to be hardworking, ambitious, and considerate through leading by example. Thank you for always being there to support me by taking thousands of pictures at dance and taekwondo, driving 6+ hours to ensure I had enough food at school, and sharing the link with all your friends when I started my business.

I would give anything to eat another piece of your steak, drive to london together, see the look on your face when I scratched your car and tell you I love you one more time.

I miss you so much.

Love,
Tung

Hey Baba,

Thank you for everything you have done for me. You raised me and taught me the knowledge and values that I carry today. I hope that wherever you are, there's plenty of golf to play and beer to drink. I was fortunate to have you as my father and will miss you dearly.

I was really saddened when I heard the news. Stephen was an intelligent, funny, loving and caring guy. You couldn't find a nicer person.

My deepest condolences to Debby, Sabrina, and Ethan.
