In memory of

Stan Hulbert

July 27, 1931 -  April 21, 2025

Stan Hulbert passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, surrounded by his beloved wife and family.
Born in Scarborough, Ontario, Stan was the cherished son of Frances and Elmer Hulbert and the loving brother of Marie, who predeceased him. He attended Scarborough Collegiate (now R.H. King Academy), where he developed a passion for sports and dancing. Stan later graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce and pursued a successful career as a Chartered Accountant.
On November 8, 1958, he married Ann Armstrong, a nurse at the Toronto General Hospital School of Nursing. Together, they built a beautiful life and welcomed their children: Ian (Mary) in 1962, David (Maureen) in 1964, and Susan (Jim) in 1966. Stan and Ann shared 67 years of devoted love and marriage.
Stan held various accounting positions before joining Ryerson University as a professor of accounting and finance, where he worked until his retirement in 1996.
An avid golfer and skilled carpenter, he built several cottages and supported his children with their own projects as their families grew. A lover of music, Stan enjoyed playing the clarinet and singing whenever family gathered. His devotion to Ann never wavered, and he was a beloved role model for his children, ten grandchildren - Adam, Ben, Cam, Brian, Maggie, Shelagh, Sherry, Chris, Nelson and Chloe - and two great grandchildren - Maeve and Henry.
His presence will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, integrity, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Stan’s memory to Scarborough Health Network Foundations for Charity (https://www.shnfoundation.ca/ways-to-give/gifts-in-memory/?form=general).

We remember so fondly Stan at the cottage and his pride of ownership and craftsmanship. How much he enjoyed listening to a ball game and seeing all the kids having fun in the lake. Watching his eyes light up when he knew Ann had made dessert (Keep the Fork?) and how he savoured every bite. We will miss him very much. With love and offering comfort, Eileen, Pearse, Sean & Grace.

Henry keeps you, Stan, and the Hulbert name alive within him. With your passing is the circle of life we hold on so ardently. And though we will no longer hear your clarinet, nor your sage advice at the dinner table, my heart is full with love of your acceptance into the family. Loosing a grandfather, a father, a husband... Those are hard to say goodbye to. We will miss you Stan. I'm sure where you're going they'll need a accountant like yourself or perhaps a builder 😉

Condolences to the Hulbert family. I first met Mr. Hulbert when I was in high school hanging out with Ian. Later he ended up being my accounting professor at Ryerson.

We spent many weekends at the family cottage and had lots of fun and good memories.

He will be missed

Bill
