In memory of

Stanley George Coon

June 5, 1931 -  December 25, 2022

Always known as Stan, he was born at home in Mimico, Ontario on June 5, 1931, and lived in Etobicoke most of his life. He grew up with his parents, Alma McLeod and John Coon and his five siblings, Mary, Clara, Edna, William and Lionel.

Joan and Stan married in 1952 and had four children - Susan Lynne, Cynthia Barbara, Gail Elizabeth and Gregory John. Stan and Joan were inseparable and he passed away on December 25 to be with her.

He was a welder by trade but made his way into management at Barrie Manufacturing. After sometime at Barrie Manufacturing, he ventured out and started his own welding business. Eventually he worked at Mimico Construction.

He loved his children and they will miss him dearly. Poppa will be missed by his grandchildren, Michael, Lindsay, Christine, Justin, Braden and Nicole. Poppa will also be missed by his great-grandchildren, Lillian, Jackson, Cali, Remy and Lucas.

The Family thanks all Stan’s friends, the angels at Cawthra Gardens Long Term Care home, the paramedics who rushed him to the hospital and the staff at Trillium Health Centre who took him into emerg. as soon as he got there. They all treated him with compassion, kindness and dignity.

Thanks to Scott Walker, who was always there for back up when the family needed his help.

A special thank you to Aunt Lorraine McCallum, his sister in law, who sent regular letters to him at Cawthra Gardens with her thoughts and prayers. When he could no longer read the letters himself, we read them to him and he enjoyed them all.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Trillium Hospital Foundation.

Stan loved his family and loved life. He always had a joke or prank to play on someone!
Spent some great moments with Cindy and her family in our younger days. Always loved being in the Coon household.
Rest in Peace Stan

To the Family and friends of Stan Coon,

On behalf of my family and myself I would like to extend sincerest condolences. It's incredibly difficult to lose the patriarch of the family. He's always the one you turn to for strength and the one you go to when you need a laugh, a hug or just some fun. I hope all the beautiful memories he left you with carry you through these difficult days and when the pain begins to subside, those memories will bring you joy once again.

Sincerely
Cathie Pasqualino

Uncle Stan,
I have so many funny memories of you and your loving antics. You always had time for me and my family whenever we visited or when you came to visit us in Windsor. May you rest in peace and say hi to aunt Joan for me.
Love Linda
