We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Soraya Gobrail. She passed away peacefully on June 17th, 2018 at Centenary Hospital, Scarborough. Soraya was born in Egypt on February 10, 1954. She came to Canada in 1977 and cared for our beloved Giryagos and Moneera Bissada, and their family for over 40 years. She will be greatly missed by members of the Bissada family, most namely Magdi Bissada & Wong Shan, daughter Natasha, Minerva, and her children, Marcelle & Yousry Bessada and their children, notably Christine. Monir, Milad, Maurice, Moufeed and their children all were lovingly adored by Soraya. Soraya was a “mother” to all of us. She was kind, feisty, honorable and always did her best in everything she did, and always for US. She will be dearly and lovingly missed by her family, but always remembered as STL – Soraya The Lion! Family and friends will be received at The Simple Alternative Funeral Home, 1057 Brock Road, PICKERING (905-686-5589) on Thursday June 21 from 4-8PM. Funeral service will be held at St Mary and St John the Beloved, Coptic Church on Kingston Road Pickering at 10:30 AM, followed by the burial in Westminster Cemetery, 5830 Bathurst St. A simple reception at the church in Pickering to follow. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Coptic Aid Foundation is appreciated.
