In memory of

Sophie Antoniadis

November 6, 1930 -  November 7, 2021

Sophie Antoniadis - November 6, 1930 - November 7, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sophie Antoniadis announce her passing after battling cancer, on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Margaret Bahen Hospice at the age of 91.
Sophie will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of her children; Anna, Angela and Tony, and her grandchildren; Christos, Sammy, Alex and Nicholas.
She was born in Greece, in the village of Leskoest, Florina and married her husband (George) of 63 years and extended their family with five children; Chris, Tony (born in Greece), Angela, Louis and Anna (born in Canada). Sophie and her husband moved to Canada for a better life and always worked hard to provide love and support to their five children.
Sophie was all about family and made sure to provide a good life for her those around her and was a present mother who always was there for her children and grandchildren. Fond memories of her hosting holidays, cooking, gardening and sharing stories from the old country. She was always there to provide advice, give support and lend a hand.
She was diagnosed with colon cancer last year and underwent surgery but sadly the cancer returned and even though she was strong in mind and spirit and aged gracefully, the past few months were the hardest to watch this strong spirited woman slowly slip away.

Sophie is now at peace and will join her beloved husband (George), and sons (Louie and Chris) in Heaven.
Special thanks to the kindhearted nurses, staff and volunteers at Margaret Bahen Hospice who took such great care of Sophie these past few months. In memory of Sophie and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Margaret Bahen Hospice would be appreciated by the family.

Anna, my sincere condolences to you and your boys. I met your mom only once and I have say she looked incredible for her age and was so sweet and adorable.
Seeing how much care you provided to your mom is a testament to the caring and compassionate person you are. The days that come now will be a testament to the strength that your feisty mom passed down to you.
You have your friends and your sons that are here for you.

Anna,
We are very sorry for your loss, and our deepest condolences to you and your family. From the stories you shared she was a deeply passionate woman who loved her family, made her home a welcoming place for all, kept busy with projects and was an avid gardener. May she Rest In Peace and find eternal enjoyment in heaven’s gardens.
