It is with deep love and admiration that we celebrate the life of Sook Huen O’Young, who passed away peacefully in East York, Ontario, at the age of 100. A true matriarch, Sook Huen built her life on devotion to her family, her traditions, and her values.

Sook Heun was Born in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, China. She shared 80 remarkable years of marriage with her husband, Sun Yip O’Young, who continues to carry her memory with grace at 101 years old. Together, they built a legacy of family, generosity, and resilience that will shine through for generations.

Sook Huen was the cherished mother of the late Jim (Pat); Sue Jung (Basil); Kayo (Diane); Leoung (Florence); and Nora (Kevin). She was the beloved grandmother of Lilli (Trevor); Amy (JT); Lisa (Jason); Cindy (Stephan); Jason (Adeline); Colin (Lisa); Olivia (Rob); and Keenan (Natalie), and the adored great-grandmother of Nathan, Hannah, Meghan, Grace, Isabelle, Sophie, Natalie, Weston, Maizelyn, Hazel, Coral, Henry, and Addison.

Her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering care for those she loved will live on to guide the family she so deeply nurtured.
