Sonny Foo Sun Wong was born in Hong Kong, China on January 15, 1951. He passed away peacefully on June 17, 2019 in Markham, Ontario, Canada.

Sonny is survived by his wife, Jane Lee, children, Daniel (Jessica) and Jennifer (Benjamin), and grandson Joshua.
His sister Ruby, nephews Harvey, James, Edmund (Shawna), Richard (Jean) and Tyler, Roger, Julia and Tessa.
His brother Jimmy (Suzanne), nephew Andrew and niece Christina (Alexander).

Please join us for a visitation and funeral service at the Elgin Mills Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Centres (1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill) on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 12:00-2:00pm. Burial service will take place at 2:00pm.

A reception meal will be held following burial at Golden Palace Banquet Hall (3225 Highway 7, #1, Markham) at 3:30pm.

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I type this. And at the same time, I am starting to think of all the wonderful memories I have of Sonny: growing up on Hotel-de-Ville street in Montreal, seeing his family grow, being a proud dad for his kids’ weddings, becoming a grandfather, going on cruises, the Parkinson Superwalks and eating snacks with him at the long-term care homes. His beautiful and pure straight from his heart thank-you speech at Dragon Legion restaurant (after one of the Superwalks in Markham) is the one memory that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.

Our most sincere condolences to the family. Sonny was a strong warrior throughout this time and put up a good fight. Please know that we are here to support you all in any way that you need. We know that he is so proud of everything that has been happening lately: watching his kids get married, becoming a grandparent. You all made his last few years the best anyone could have asked for.

We will always be team Sonny Side Up.
